Brute force with a badge. Mitchell.
Joe Don Baker is Mitchell- a hard-nosed, soft-bellied cop with an affinity for porn and Schlitz. His latest assignment has him engaging in no-speed car chases, yelling at children, shooting innocents and sloppily carousing Linda Evans.
And so we say goodbye to Joel. Here we are, basically a literal half-point in the series and Joel's last episode.
I know a lot of fans who essentially stopped watching after this episode, and I'm sorry to have to say that they are really stupid... but whatever. Their loss.
Anyways, Mitchell is one of my all-time favourite episodes, and definitely it's a fan favourite. They ruthlessly bag on Joe-Don Baker and this sack of a movie with pure excellence. The riffing is top-notch and the segments are excellent. I love every moment with Gypsy freaking out, and her scenes with Mike are great. I don't know why, but I just love the transition episodes... maybe it's just because it means things are suddenly fresh and new.
As much as I hate to see Joel go, I love to see Mike arrive. Now we start a new era in Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Favourite line: "...and she's an acrobat, Ted!"
