0515: The Wild Wild World of Batwoman

MST3k, Experiment #0515

SHORT:
Cheating. A young boy learns an important leason: when cheating your way to the top, make sure that you're not caught.

Super-heroine battles diabolical evil to save the world! The Wild Wild World of Batwoman.

In this zero budget cheapie a busty Batwoman enlists her beauteous bevy of Batgirls (when they are not dancing the jerk) to help her regain a mad scientist's invention (an atom bomb made out of a hearing aid) before a costumed ne'er-do-well, Rat Fink, can glom onto it for his own purposes.

I was originally going to rant on and on about this movie, but I think I will keep it short, because I just don't want to think about it really. I guess what I will say is that this is the ONLY movie I have ever seen that I have ever absolutely EVER needed a break from. Yes, I know that sentence was horribly constructed, but do I look like I care?!

Anyways, I find this episode difficult to sit through. I usually put it on and take several breaks to walk around and do other things, usually ending up downstairs at my sister's place. When they ask "What are you up to?" I reply "Oh, I'm upstairs watching The Wild Wild World of Batwoman, which is why I'm down here right now."

That's not to say I haven't been able to sit through it. I have many times, but normally I feel the burning itching desire to hit the pause button... cinematic herpes is what I like to call it.

Having said all this, I would just like to state that this episode itself is great. It's really one of the funniest. The riffs are incredible, the short is bland, the movie sucks, and the host segments may very well be some of my favourites. I would (and do) watch this episode again and again simply for the segments. Crow gets caught cheating and they hold a trial, much like in the short. This carries on through every segment til the end, which is always fun. I quite enjoy the running segments!!

Anyways, if you want to try to sit through this movie, I would highly recommend it. It doesn't get much worse.

Favourite line: "Oh, Jerry Warren. Well there's something clever I could say--"
