Strange! Terrifying! Evil! Devil Doll.
Vorelli is a ventriloquist and hypnotist, with an amazing dummy, Hugo. Vorelli meets and pursues a beautiful heiress; he mesmerizes her, and induces a baffling coma. His buxom mistress fears he'll dump her for the younger woman, and threatens to expose him. Vorelli tricks Hugo into killing Magda while he's safely elsewhere. Marianne's boyfriend Mark investigates. He discovers another killing in Vorelli's past, of a man called Hugo. The girl wakes from her coma, and announces she will marry the hypnotist. When the triumphant Vorelli tells Hugo his plans for Marianne and a new, female dummy, a final confrontation yields surprising results.
There really isn't much to this episode... I'm not so fond of the Roman Times bits on this one. I am mostly fond of after they get captured, but the bits with Pitch are great. I especially enjoy Servo as a toaster strudel for a good quarter of the episode. I think Kevin had fun doing the movie segments as the strudel.
This movie itself is pretty friggin' weird. I had hoped we were done with the hypnosis based movies, but oh well. There really isn't much to it though. Quite a bit of funny riffs however.
Really, there's nothing to scream about with this episode, which is probably why people just overlook it. Glad it's there though, mostly just for the riffs.
Favourite line: "You think he likes ham. Wait until you see me like ham."
