Invasion of The Neptune Men.
Slow-moving aliens from the planet Neptune, wearing nosecone-shaped space helmets, attempt to invade Earth in a winged rocketship. But they are thwarted by a mysterious superhero called Space Chief who flies around in a rocket-propelled car.
Well, there are a few episodes that come in "sets" or "pairs" ... sometimes they are obviously meant to be together, like "Fugitive Alien" and "Master Ninja" and other times, they just kind of seem to belong to each other. I think this one and "Prince of Space" are kind of in the middle of that spectrum. Not only do the episodes sort of work well together, what with the appearance of Krankor and all, but the plots of the movies are practically the same.
One difference however... This movie is painfully worse than "Prince of Space" to the extent that Mike walks out of the theater... They even need Krankor to come cheer them up!!
I think you could easily package these two together and get away with it... There's just too much similarity going on there. That, and they're both hillarious. I really enjoy this episode, and honestly I could watch this one over and over again.
One of the best segments, by the way, is the very Abbott and Costello-esque bit about Japanese theater. It's such an obvious joke and they pull it off so well.
Favourite line: "That means lunch won't be til yesterday."
