Rest In...Beast. Werewolf.
A team of archaeologists with unplaceable accents unearth a skeleton at a dig in an Arizona quarry. The Native Americans on the dig instantly recognize it as the remains of a werewolf, so the team leaders immediately take it to their lab and stare at it. Natalie, one of the team members, thinks it's absolutely fascinating, but Yuri siezes on greater ambitions when one of the dig assistants, who injured themself on the remains, becomes infected and turns into a werewolf in full view of hospital personnel. Yuri then conducts an experiment infecting other people in town to see if they turn into werewolves as well. When Paul arrives at the lab to assist in analyzing the remains, Yuri infects him, too. After Paul's transformation (under a week-long full moon), Natalie tries to save him.
Well this is a gem, isn't it?! I'm not going to talk at length about this one, mostly because I should have written this a few days ago... but I will say that it's one of the best-loved episodes out there. (As far as Sci-Fi episode go, it's probably second only to The Final Sacrifice.)
The movie is really bad, and the acting is quite dreadful... VERY mockable... So of course, the riffs are fantastic!!!
Everyone loves the song from segment two(2) "Where, O Werewolf" and the bits of Mike becoming a "werecrow" are truly brilliant in my opinion.
MY favourite part of the entire episode is the end-credit sequence to the movie. I always love when they sing along and throw in popular and obscure songs, and they really go to town on this one.
Yeah... great episode. If ou haven't seen it, you're missing out.
Favourite line: "Hey everyone. Free samples of me."
